It is that hitting is contagious (errors are also). If you get 2 hits in a row, look out. Confidence is everything. I took a while, but we are now confident hitters. I will give an example - Darby Trull.

For much of the year last year Darby was in a slump - swinging at bad pitches, lunging, stepping out away from the ball. If she got fooled on a pitch she would drop her head and you could just watch the dread just ooze into her whole demeanor. Toward the end of last year (I forget which game) she had this look that said "I'm tired of this crap." And she just swung within her frame and hard. The ball went gone in a hurry! Earlier this year it was the same. Until yesterday - Darby came to the plate and said "Eff you Jobu. I'll do it myself!" And she did. She knew they were all hitting so she didn't press. She knew she would get a hit so she swung free.
